Aurelius Fine Oils & Balsamic Vinegars was founded by Mike George, a Canadian Special Forces veteran, while he was still serving in the military. The inspiration came during a family dinner in Italy in 2016 when his uncle posed a simple yet profound question: Would Canadians be interested in REAL olive oil?
Determined to find out, Mike spent the next two years balancing military service with entrepreneurship, setting up a small table at bakeries and local markets on weekends. Through persistence and networking, he earned the opportunity to supply some of Ottawa’s top restaurants, including Riviera, e18hteen, and North & Navy.
In 2018, after an esteemed career in the military, Mike made the bold decision to transition from Special Forces to full-time business owner, opening a retail brick-and-mortar tasting boutique in Wellington West, Ottawa.
Since then, Aurelius Fine Oils & Balsamic Vinegars has built a strong reputation for its authentic, small-batch, and artisanal products. With an extensive selection of premium extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars, the company continues to captivate food lovers and connoisseurs alike.
