Heroes Mending on the Fly is a National nonprofit organization dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, and First Responders.
Through the therapeutic art of fly fishing, we offer a range of programs and activities designed to support recovery, foster education, and build community —
one cast at a time.
HMOTF is devoted to helping members of the Canadian Armed Forces, RCMP, and First Responders rediscover their strength and experience renewal. By embracing the benefits of fly fishing, we provide tools for healing that go beyond physical recovery, fostering resilience, connection with nature, and camaraderie among like-minded individuals.
Our programs are designed to build a supportive community, offering participants a chance to learn, grow, and share in the journey toward emotional and physical well-being. Through skill building activities like fly tying and casting, combined with the restorative experience of being on the water, we help create opportunities for personal growth, connection, and lasting renewal.
Over the years, we have accomplished many important milestones in our mission, including increasing accessibility of our programs, program impact, engaging in environmental initiatives, and building strong communities with our participants, sponsors and donors.
